2016-2017 Scripps Catalog

Welcome to the Scripps College Catalog

Scripps College was founded in 1926 by Ellen Browning Scripps, a pioneering philanthropist and influential figure in the world of education, publishing, and women's rights - a woman ahead of her time.
"The paramount obligation of a college is to develop in its students the ability to think clearly and independently, and the ability to live confidently, courageously, and hopefully."
-Ellen Browning Scripps

Looking for a Different Catalog Year?

All students who enter the College in Fall 2016 or Spring 2017 are subject to the academic requirements of the 2016-2017 Scripps Catalog.

Students who entered the College prior to Fall 2016 should refer to the Scripps Catalog of the year they entered the College.  For example, select the 2013-2014 Scripps Catalog if you entered the College during that academic year. (Select a catalog on the Archived Scripps Catalogs  page.)

PDF versions of the Scripps Catalog are available back to 2007-2008.
