RLST 140 PO - The Stories We Tell: Narrative and the Moral Imagination Focusing primarily, though not exclusively, on religious narratives from several major traditions, we explore the following questions: What do we mean by narrative, and how is it distinguished from doctrine or theology? What is at stake in this distinction? How do narratives evolve, and how are they at play in the way decisions are made? What are the stories we tell, and how do they restrict or enhance our moral imaginations as we engage prejudice, exercise power, and interact with the other?
