ENGL 187 SC - Race and Gender in Postcolonial Literature This course asks how racial and gender identities have been imagined and propagated during the colonial and postcolonial periods. We will approach this topic through the reading and viewing of texts and films written from both Western (especially British and American) and non-Western (African, Latin American, Asian, Pacific Islander) perspectives.
