BIOL 175 KS - Applied Biostatistics A hands-on introduction to choosing, applying, and interpreting the results of statistical methods for life scientists. This course will include traditional parametric statistics, such as t-tests, analysis for variance, correlation and regression analysis, together with powerful non-parametric randomization tests. Data presentation and experimental design will be addressed, together with miscellanea of less-common statistical techniques that find use outside of the laboratory setting. The course includes both lectures and a weekly tutorial section in which students analyze data sets and learn to use statistical software.
Please refer to the course schedule on the Scripps Portal for current course offerings and details.
