BIOL 199 KS - Independent Study in Biology, Chemistry, Physics Students who have the necessary qualifications, and who wish to investigate in depth an area of study not covered in regularly scheduled courses, may arrange with a faculty member for independent study under his or her direction. A limited opportunity open to all students with permission of instructor. Full or half course. Offered annually.

- G. Edwalds-Gilbert: Cell and molecular biology; pre-mRNA splicing in yeast.
- P. Ferree: Genetics, molecular biology, and early development of Drosophila (fruit flies) and Nasonia (jewel wasps); chromosome structure and evolution; host-pathogen interactions.
