WRIT 110 SC - Introduction to Rhetoric This course combines canonical theories and contemporary practices of rhetoric. We will study representative texts on the arts and techniques of persuasion from the classical, renaissance, and modern periods. We will apply their ideas to current cases in politics and the media. Assignments will include rhetorical analyses and creative arguments (advertisements, formal letters, propaganda, manifestos, policy briefs).
