HIST 100D CH - Political Protest and Social Movements in Latin America The political landscape of Latin America has changed dramatically since the 1980s, when neo-liberal policy predominated. The backlash to these policies has transformed the political landscape in most countries where the rise of mass movements and popular discontent has produced the election of reformers, progressives and even socialists. The seminar seeks to contextualize the emergence of new social and political movements throughout Latin America.
