ANTH 047 SC - The Anthropology of Religion How do we know when we are encountering the religious? And how can it be studied? This course will address these questions and others by examining the major themes in the anthropology of religion: magic, belief, symbols, ritual, morality, spirit possession, conversion, and secularization. Students will learn about a variety of religious practices while critically probing the question of studying other people’s beliefs.
