MATH 139 SC - Fourier Analysis Fourier analysis begins with the examination of the difficulties involved in attempting to reconstruct arbitrary functions as infinite combinations of elementary trigonometric functions. Topics in this course will include Fourier series, summability, types and questions of convergence, and the Fourier transform (with, if time permits, applications to PDEs, medical imaging, linguistics, and number theory).
Prerequisite(s): MATH 131 . Course Credit: 1.0
