HIST 175 SC - War, Empire, and Society in the U.S., 1898-Present This course will investigate the roots and impact of war on American society since the Spanish-American War, with emphasis on social, ideological, and cultural issues. Topics include the relationship between ideals and ideology, national security and civil liberties, reform and dissent, imperialism and national identity.
