HMSC 136 SC - Critical Theory and Modern Culture This course explores historical and contemporary efforts to analyze and understand the complex relationship between culture and political economy. We will explore the emergence of the concept of culture and the critical discourses surrounding it from the rise of modern industry to contemporary crises. Topics include aesthetics and politics, literary genres, haunting, sexuality, cinema, and fascism.
