CORE 003 SC - Resilience and Resistance: Women of Color in the United States This course will explore histories of the present that center the experiences of women of color in the United States. Through an intersectional feminist approach, we will study how the experiences of Asian, Black, Latin, and Native American women in the U.S. have been shaped by systems of power during the 20th and 21st centuries. We will explore how women of color have conceptualized and enacted resistance to oppression in different contexts. We will study documentary, testimonial, and fiction narratives that center the experiences of women of color in relation to immigration, labor, citizenship, incarceration, activism, decolonization, and identity formation.
