CORE 003 SC - Art, Ecology, and Fieldwork This studio based course will explore methodologies used by artists and scientists who conduct place-based field work. Throughout the course, students will develop a critical framework, exploring and critiquing the relationship between visual art, technology and the natural sciences. An emphasis will be placed on the use of conventional and unconventional methodologies in the arts and humanities to collect, analyze and interpret data, objects, natural phenomena and sensorial experiences in the field. Through research and studio practice, students will generate interdisciplinary artworks that engage with contemporary conversations in the environmental humanities.
