MS 147D PO - Theories of the Visual This course examines theories for understanding relationships between viewers and images through an exploration of the cultural, political, and psychic mechanisms that accompany the act of looking. It engages these issues though consideration of painting, photography, film, science, and public space.
Prerequisite(s): Any art history course or any one of the following: MS 049 , MS 050 , MS 051 . Letter grade only. Instructor: J. Friedlander Course Credit: 1.0
