CORE 003 SC - Discord and Dialog People often disagree with each other on matters of great importance, including ethical, scientific, religious, political, and aesthetic issues. This discord, and the dialog or dispute that derives from it, is a fact of our social predicament. This course investigates the nature and significance of such disagreements and dialogs by examining their structure, content, and presuppositions. We will also consider the question of what value disagreement has for society and the history of some of these disagreements.
