BIOL 171 KS - Biology of Cancer Examination of cellular and molecular phenomena, using the cancer cells as the focus. Topics discussed will include patterns of cancer in populations, the cell cycle, stages in cancer formation, mutagenesis and carcinogens, tumor viruses and oncogenes, heredity and cancer, immune system and cancer, and biological rationales for treatments.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 043L and BIOL 044L ; or BIOL042L KS and BIOL044L KS ; CHEM 014L and CHEM 015L ; or CHEM 029L ; or CHEM042L KS
