BIOL 059L KS - Mircrobes and Art

Microbes are ubiquitous and essential to life as we know it. Yet, we are only beginning to understand the full contribution of microbes to the artistic process and art conservation. In collaboration with the Williamson Art Gallery at Scripps, this lecture and lab course will explore the scope of the microbial world as it relates to the creation, degradation, and restoration of art.
