PHYS 031L KS - General Physics for the Life Sciences II The second semester of a yearlong, calculus-based introductory course sequence with lab (PHYS 030L-031L) introducing electric charges and fields, Gauss’s law, potentials, ac/dc circuits, magnetic fields and forces, Faraday/induction, geometric optics, wave phenomena (mechanical, sound, and electromagnetic waves; interference and diffraction), and selected elements of modern physics (e.g., relativity, radioactivity, quantum). This course is designed for life science majors and others interested in the health professions. Potential physics, engineering, and chemistry majors should normally take Physics 033L-034L.
Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): PHYS 030L and Calculus I (e.g. MATH030 SC)
