PHYS 034L KS - Principles of Physics II The second semester of a yearlong, calculus-based introductory course sequence with lab (PHYS 033L-034L), designed for potential physics, chemistry, and engineering majors. Topics include electric charges and fields, Gauss’s law, potentials, ac/dc circuits, magnetic fields and forces, Faraday/induction, Maxwell’s displacement current, geometric optics, and wave phenomena (mechanical, sound, and electromagnetic waves; interference and diffraction). Potential physics majors normally take PHYS034L in spring of their first year.
Prerequisite(s): PHYS033L, and Calculus II (e.g., MATH031 SC) or concurrent enrollment in Calculus II Course Credit: 1.0 Offered: Every spring
