CORE 010A SC - Social Justice/Practice in Book Arts With a focus on artists’ books and global papermaking traditions, the course examines the methods and rationales of artists who explore challenging and at times disturbing topics as artwork in the book form. Students will engage in the physical handling and critical study of artists’ books and prints, including those housed in Denison Library, as well as interact with visiting artists and papermakers. Through writing assignments, discussions and readings centered on social justice and socially engaged practices in Book Arts, the course will culminate in the creation of an original book or print work produced under the Scripps College Press imprint.
Please refer to the course schedule on the Scripps Portal for current course offerings and details.
