CORE 010A SC - (Dis)Ability?


This course is an introduction to disability studies. We will question how we understand disability and literary and cinematic representations of disability. Topics covered include: 1) disability as metaphor; 2) the range of bodily ability, including temporarily able-bodies and super-ability; 3) the intersections of disability and gender, sexuality, race, class; and 4) disability rights and advocacy. Students will also learn how to create accessible projects and papers.
