BIOL 177B SC - Introduction to Biochemistry for non-majors


An introduction to the concepts of biochemistry intended for students who are not chemistry or biology majors but are interested in pursuing careers in the health science. Topics will include the structure and function of proteins and enzymes and enzyme regulation; metabolism and glycolysis; lipid metabolism; and DNA transcription and replication.  This course may not be used to satisfy Keck Science major requirements or Scripps general education requirements.

Prerequisite(s): CHEM014L KS  CHEM015L KS  , CHEM116L KS  or equivalent.
