Computer science is an exciting and rapidly evolving discipline with components of design, logic, mathematics, engineering, and philosophy. It is a science, but it is not about nature. Like a natural science, computer science has theoretical and experimental components; unlike the natural sciences, however, computer scientists design some of their own objects of study. Students interested in this rapidly growing area pursue introductory and advanced courses leading to a major through Harvey Mudd or Pomona Colleges. Students may pursue a computer science minor through Pomona College. See guidelines concerning off-campus majors and cross-registration.
