Data Science Minor

Requirements for the Minor

A minor in Data Science requires a minimum of seven courses beyond Calculus 1 and Calculus 2. 

• Computer Programming DS 001 SC   or 
  MS 059 SC
    
• Foundations of Data Science DS 002 SC   
• Probability and Statistics BIOL174L KS  or BIOL175 KS  or ECON120 SC  or PSYC103 SC  
• Data Science Ethics & Justice PSYC183 SC   
• Linear Algebra MATH060 SC   
• Minimum of two additional upper-division courses selected in careful consultation with a Data Science minor adviser, for a total of at least seven courses.

Upper division courses should be numbered 100 and above or approved by a Data Science minor adviser. Study abroad courses can be used for demonstrated proficiency and upper-division electives. Selection of study abroad courses for inclusion in the Data Science minor should be done in careful consultation with a minor adviser.
