Italian Studies Major

Requirements for the Major

Prerequisites for the major are:  ITAL 001 , ITAL 002 , and ITAL 033 . Requirements for the major are: ITAL 044  plus seven additional courses related to Italy, selected from the following list or approved by the major adviser:

• two literature courses (one may be taught in English, the other should be upper division Italian, taught at Scripps;
• two history courses;
• two art history courses;
• one general course related to Italy.

Of these additional courses, a minimum of four must be taken at the Claremont Colleges.  A senior thesis is also required.
