ENGL 153 SC - James Joyce: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Ulysses

This course will be a literary and cultural study of Joyce’s Portrait and Ulysses, two of the greatest works of European modernism. The focus will be on exploring the radical literary inventiveness of these texts, their humor, their continuing political significance, and their essential Irishness.
