BIOL 149 KS - Neuroscience 2: Systems This course will examine the structure, function, and organization of nervous systems. Topics will include signal transduction, electrophysiology, the role of trophic factors, development of the nervous system, and neural networks. Consideration will also be given to neuropathologic conditions such as Parkinson’s’ and Alzheimer’s diseases. Enrollment limited to 24.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 043L and BIOL 044L , or BIOL 040L and BIOL 044L ; CHEM 014L and CHEM 015L ; or CHEM 040L and CHEM 015L , or CHEM 029L , or both semesters of the AISS course (AISS 001AL , AISS 001BL , AISS 002AL , AISS 002BL ). Course Credit: 1.0 Offered: Every spring
