BIOL 157L KS - Cell Biology This course examines the function of organisms at the cellular and molecular level through discussion, analysis of scientific literature, and laboratory experimentation. Topics include signal transduction, nuclear structure and function, cell division, and apoptosis (cell suicide). The laboratory uses modern cell biology techniques including fluorescent microscopy and immunodetection of proteins. Enrollment limited to 18. Offered fall and spring.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 043L , or BIOL 040L , CHEM 014L and CHEM 015L (or CHEM 029L ), or CHEM 040L and CHEM 015L , or both semesters of the AISS course (AISS 001AL , AISS 001BL , AISS 002AL , AISS 002BL ) or permission of instructor.
