ANTH 129 SC - Gender, Nationalisms, and the State This seminar examines the centrality of gender to identities produced in the modern world through participation in (or exclusion from) state, nation, and nationalist and/or anti-colonial movements. Critical analyses of concepts such as “gender,” “citizenship,” “imperialism,” “nationalism,” “power,” and “militarism” will be integrated with specific case studies.
