CHLT 060 CH - Women in the Third World This class explores the lives of women in Africa, Asia and Latin America and their feminist writing based on their own experiences in conversation with feminists of color in the global North. It addresses such questions as these: How are women’s lives affected by neoliberal policies? What types of feminisms and mobilizations women have developed and in which ways do they assert their agency and resist empire? What are the conceptualizations, alternative feminisms, activisms, and praxis women of color in the global North and the global South use in order to survive?
