CHLT 115 CH - Gender, Race and Class: Women of Color in the U.S We will explore the contemporary experiences of African American, American Indian, Asian American/Asian immigrant, Chicano/Latina and White women, focusing on the social construction of gender and race. We will place the experiences of women of color at the center of analysis, looking at the socioeconomic and political conditions which affect their lives. The power relations in the construction of women’s discourses will be presented as an integral part of the struggle of “minority” groups in the U.S.
