CHLT 009 CH - Food, Culture, and Power Food is more than nutrition. It lives at the intersections of human cultures and political economic systems. In this course we examine the global and local modes of food production, distribution, and consumption and its intersections with culture, identity, memory, nationhood and capital. The course is multidisciplinary and brings together several fields including African Studies, Sociology, Cultural Geography, Asian Studies and Chicano Studies. The course is primarily informed by feminism/post colonialism.
