HIST 167 SC - US Urban Space, Race, and Policy This course is an overview of the major themes and events in US history with a focus on demographic, geographic, political, ecomonic and social developments of US cities. Much of the emphasis will be from the age of urbanization (late 19th Century) through the 20th Century. The course touches on urban planning, the racialization of city spaces, ghettoization, racial tensions, urban riots, gentrification, and public policy.
