PHYS 115 KS - Statistical Physics with Computational Applications This upper-division course focuses on statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Topics include the laws of thermodynamics, kinetic and transport theory, quantum statistical mechanics (including microcanonical, canonical, and grand canonical ensembles, Bose and Fermi statistics) and applications. Both analytical and numerical techniques will be emphasized. Prerequisites: PHYS035, MATH032, PHYS100 or equivalent.
