ENGL 145 SC - American Women Writers This course offers an overview of American women writers of the long nineteenth century (1780s-1930s), with particular attention to the rapid expansion of women’s writing in the antebellum period. Writers studied may include Wheatley, Stowe, Jacobs, Alcott, Dickinson, Wharton, Chopin, Cather, Moore, Hurston, and Stein.
