CORE 003 SC - Women’s Rights: Does it Matter? Women’s rights is an issue that many of us are passionate about. But do these rights even matter? Would the absence of these rights make women worse off? In this course, we focus on some of the major legal rights that have empowered women. Until recently, even in developed countries, women could not own property, acquire credit, have control over their own body, vote, and legally end a marriage. We explore the expansion of women’s rights and study the impact of these changes. We also delve into the indirect impact of women’s rights in both developed and developing countries.
