WRIT 109 SC - Writing Studio In this writing workshop, students will work on new and previously assigned essays and develop their understanding of all aspects of the academic writing process, including reflecting upon prompts and disciplinary conventions; invention, brainstorming, and prewriting; drafting, revision, and editing; peer response and critical thinking; research and documentation; and presentation. Students engage in nuanced discussions of academic genres and writing conventions as well as the rhetorical framing and audience expectations of individual essays. Writing Studio may be taken at any point in students’ academic careers (and may be repeated once for credit, or audited with instructor permission).
