BIOL 157L KS - Cell Biology This course examines the function of organisms at the cellular and molecular level through discussion, analysis of scientific literature, and laboratory experimentation. Topics include signal transduction, nuclear structure and function, cell division, and apoptosis (cell suicide). The laboratory uses modern cell biology techniques including fluorescent microscopy and immunodetection of proteins. Enrollment limited to 18. Offered fall and spring.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 043L or BIOL042L KS , CHEM 014L and CHEM 015L ; (or CHEM 029L ), or CHEM042L KS , or permission of instructor. One previous upper division Biology course is strongly recommended. Course Credit: 1.0 Offered: Every semester
