CORE 003 SC - “America” in recent music & literature This section of CORE 3 will examine the construction of diverse “American”–meaning U.S.–identities through selected music, film, poetry, and novels of the 20th and 21st centuries. What “America” do these artists and writers envision? What “America” do they fear? How do different “American” identities coexist? Building on the concepts studied through the semester, students will complete a final paper or project exploring an “American” identity or the intersection of identities.
