WRIT 122 SC - Proposal and Application Writing This course will simultaneously provide the theoretical background of application essays as a genre of writing, with its own expectations and values, and share specific strategies and techniques to help students research, draft, and revise their application essays. As students work on their essays, and workshop them in class, they will reflect on the types of writing they are most familiar with and reflect on the ways that application essays differ from and align with other types of argument-driven writing. At the end of the term, students will submit final essays for their chosen opportunity, whether a fellowship or graduate school, and compose written reflections on their research and writing processes, to help prepare them for future writing regardless of genre.
